To be recognized as a Centre of excellence in Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical  Microbiology
Mission Statement
We are a multidisciplinary department with expertise in drug development, design, delivery 
and evaluation of pharmaceutical herbal products, natural products as well as providing 
competence in pharmaceutical microbiology and pharmaceutical biotechnology.

Our mission 
is to develop high caliber intellectuals equipped with skills to compound, manufacture and 
assure the quality of pharmaceutical preparations. We are dedicated to pursuing evidence-based and innovative research to support the pharmaceutical industry. Additionally, we serve 
as a resource of expertise for the university and nation as large.
Objectives
To offer undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs based upon a strong  general science foundation. 

To achieve this, we intend to provide an enhanced environment for independent and critical thinking and enhance a continuing interest in  learning.

To support a highly qualified faculty and staff that is student- and teaching-oriented and  is engaged in scholarly and impactful   research as well as professional activities. The  Department will also support training of professionals who will be able to under       take  the challenging task of pharmaceutical manufacturing and product quality assessment. 

To contribute its infrastructure and laboratory resources, in partnership with other  institutions and agencies, to improve the educational, social, and economic development of humanity.
